Willard Ellis
Willard Ellis joined the Happy Homestead Cemetery District's Board of Directors in 2016
Born and raised in Berkeley. Graduated from Brigham Young University June 1966 with a major in finance and banking. Served a mission for his church for two- and one half years in Brazil. Earned a Real Estate Certificate from UC Berkeley. Owned and operated Ellis Real Estate in Berkeley as a real estate broker for 42 years.
Willard and his wife Anne are the parents of five sons, one daughter and grandparents to fifteen. Retired from real estate at the end of 2008 to their South Lake Tahoe home where they have enjoyed the beauty of the lake and the ski slopes for the last 48 years. A few months after becoming a full-time resident at Tahoe a friend asked him to work part time at McFarlane Mortuary. He became a licensed funeral director. Six months later he was hired full time as a funeral arranger. He managed the mortuary from December 2009 until spring of 2017. He has enjoyed getting to know and serve the residents of South Lake Tahoe and enjoys participating in community events.
Willard is a past president of The Berkeley Association of Realtors, past president of Kiwanis, serving twice. He has volunteered in youth sports, and activities, his favorite was cleaning up the Russian River with a group of youth for many years.
